Empowering women and girls to live with hope, dignity and independence after trafficking and violence

Picture
Join us on 18 & 19 October for an open garden in Canberra in support of women and children in Nepal rebuilding their lives after violence.

This beautiful garden was reconstructed following the 2003 Canberra bushfires and features native and drought-tolerant species, bird habitat and herb gardens across layered terraces. Explore hidden spaces with unique garden art, enjoy tea and cake on the deck overlooking Canberra, and browse markets offering vegetable seedlings, potted plants, garden art, homemade jams and pickles, and ethically made textiles and jewellery from Nepal.

We work with well established, reputable organisations in Nepal, providing survivors of trafficking and violence with the support, funds and opportunities they need to lead self-determined lives and advocate to end modern slavery.

A NOTE ON LANGUAGE

We recognise people with lived experience of trafficking and abuse identify themselves in many ways. We choose to use the term ‘survivor’, rather than ‘victim’, to reflect the challenging, long-term work that survivors do to rebuild their lives after violence.
