Nepal has a complex history of dependency on foreign aid. Short term funding cycles and duplication of work stretches limited funding and impedes local organisations from driving strategic priorities, stifling institutional development and sustainable change. We’re committed to doing things differently.
How we work
We provide well-established, results-driven organisations in Nepal with the funding, resources and tools they need to continue their positive work.
We work in direct partnership with these local organisations in to develop deep and genuine relationships, believing that local organisations are best placed to identify the needs of beneficiaries. We understand that true impact requires long term commitments and reliable and flexible funding.
Didi means older sister in Nepal and is a term of respect. Our name is representative of the role we play in Nepal, one guided by listening, learning and empowering.
We take a zero tolerance approach to exploitation, harrasment and abuse. The wellbeing of survivors is at the centre of our work and we aim to actively engage survivors and young people in the decision-making that impacts their lives. We work closely with our partners in Nepal to provide the safest possible environment for the children and adults we support, acknowledging the impacts of trauma, gender, caste and poverty on vulnerability to exploitation.
