What is the benefit of a monthly donation?
There are many benefits to committed, ongoing funding:

  • It affords us the flexibility to respond directly to the needs of our partner organisations. This is a key and proud point of difference for Didi – particularly considering research which found only 25% of anti-trafficking organisations identified that funders directly ask them what support they need the most.

  • It supports stable funding to our partners, a key need for the complex and long-term work of trauma recovery and reintegration of survivors of trafficking and gender-based violence. A survey of 80 anti-trafficking organisations across 28 countries found only 6% of grant funding is more than 3 years. Close to one-third (29%) is one year or less.

  • The Government of Nepal only funds two long-term rehabilitation centres for trafficking survivors, despite the overwhelming need. This makes our partner, Asha Nepal, a critical provider, and their evidence-based, best practice model is long-term, holistic, individualised care for survivors.

Your donation means a great deal to the women and girls who are making new lives for themselves
after violence.
HOW WE USE YOUR GIFT
As a volunteer-run organisation, over 90% of your donation goes to our locally-led partners in Nepal.

It is important that nonprofits are transparent about their overheads, but a lean overhead model isn't always the best model. It is most important that funds are used effectively and that nonprofits are able to invest adequately in the activities, people and infrastructure they need to have a positive and sustainable impact.
