Give the gift of transformative care this Mother's Day

In honour of your Mum or a mother figure in your life, give a gift to support Family Based Care housemothers in Nepal.

Family Based Care provides a safe home for children who have experienced trafficking and gender-based violence. It is considered best practice in supporting and reintegrating survivors, as it more closely resembles a family home, with a housemother and siblings.

The love, compassion and patience of housemothers - and the individualised care they provide - are transformative for children's wellbeing, resilience and recovery from trauma.
For your donation, you'll receive an e-card to give as a gift on Mother's Day. The card includes a special video message from Smriti at our partner organisation, Asha Nepal, on Family Based Care and the important role of housemothers.

YOUR DONATION SUPPORTS TRANSFORMATIVE CARE FOR SURVIVORS OF TRAFFICKING & ABUSE
CONSISTENT HOUSEMOTHER
Housemothers give their heart and soul (and 24/7 of their time!) to care for children recovering from trauma. They commit for a minimum of 2 years to the role. They receive a salary and training in first aid, child protection and parenting skills.
WHOLE OF PERSON CARE
Family Based Care doesn't just provide accommodation. Children are supported with counselling, healthcare, life skills workshops and to celebrate cultural events and their birthdays as a family.
FAMILY STRENGTHENING
Asha Nepal works closely with a child's biological family to prepare them for reintegration if safe to do so. Families are supported to be strong, safe and healthy through family counselling, parenting workshops and visits from Asha's social worker.
“I’m a mother to six children coming from different cultures and backgrounds. Seeing the world through their eyes gives me the opportunity to learn new things every day. Their stories are different and caring for them I realise that the work I do is important.

Like every mother, I hope that they will learn new things, study hard and live a happy life. I hope they will grow up to become caring and helpful individuals who find their way back to their families and lead a happy life.”
BINSA, FAMILY BASED CARE HOUSEMOTHER
